Owner and President of Ambrosia Food and Floral Design, Inc., Meredith Maier, founded the company in April of 1989. Ms. Maier moved to the Atlanta area after apprenticing under Chef Anne-Marie Huste, celebrated personal chef for Billie Rose and Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis. Ms. Maier received her training as a Pastry Chef while apprenticing under Austrian Pastry Chef, Richard Pressl. Ms. Maier went on to open Adelaide's Catering with partner John Wilson. Ms. Maier expanded her talents by opening The Innsbruck, an Austrian-style restaurant on the square in Marietta, Georgia. The Innsbruck served breakfast, lunch and dinner and also provided full-service catering. The restaurant was also a gourmet take-out and pastry shop, which featured authentic European-style pastries.
Ms. Maier continued her training at the Southern Professional School of Floral Design, before opening Ambrosia Food and Floral Design. Ambrosia has already been voted Best Caterer in Creative Loafing and voted Best New Florist in the Atlanta Journal. Adelaide's was written up in the Who's Who of Atlanta Businesses and in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The Innsbruck was written up in the Dining Out section in the winter edition of Inside Cobb magazine.
Ambrosia Food and Floral Design continues to grow and has found a new home in Northeast Atlanta. The devotion to high standards and flawless customer service has resulted in significant growth and the establishment of a stellar reputation in corporate, social and full-service, off-premise catering.
